Nature and Farming: News for September 2018

Both human livelihoods and the biosphere that sustains them are under threat from the current heat and in some places, drought. The astonishingly hot, dry northern summer has had such an impact on crops and livestock that humans' staple foods are under threat. Farm Ireland reports that "by the end of the season, the eight major exporters will be left with 20 percent of world stocks - just 26 days of cover".
